The station's first sound news camera. It took 100 ft film loads - a total running time of 2 min 30 sec. Hardly 'portable'. Used either a step-down transformer to convert from 240 v to 110 v (many's the time a long extension lead was run in Ruthven Street into an obliging shop while we filmed in the main street) or from a step-up box balanced on the engine of the news van with the box connected to the car's battery. A box about the size of fruit crate contained the electronics for the sound system. For the film historians, the sound was recorded as a variable area track on the side of the film.
