To celebrate DDQ's 21st anniversary of broadcasting, a live telecast was held from the bottom end of Queen's Park in Toowoomba. It was a huge undertaking, with much of the station's equipment including the studio cameras and peds being relocated to the big tent. I think it is fair to say that every single staff member of the station including the general manager Laurie Burrows rolled up our sleeves and toiled away making this outside broadcast happen. The engineering staff did everything from setting up the microwave links to installing outside toilets. The production staff were flat out working at least five different sets, and all other staff helped on the night either on the telethon phones, catering, ushering guests or any other task that needed doing. Such was the team spirit that existed at this little television station.
